The Problem with our Food System.

One of the biggest issues we face is that healthy eating is often not an accessible or affordable option! With fast food companies like McDonald’s offering a full extensive dollar menu, it’s difficult to justify spending more on healthier food and getting less.
It is a huge privilege to carve out the time to cook, or to be able to afford the more expensive, healthier options! You don’t have to be perfect when it comes to diet, it’s about doing the best you can with what you have available to you. Shopping at Whole Foods is NOT a affordable for MOST people and cooking a meal from scratch every night is NOT an option for many.
I encourage everyone to try and do your best to seek out cheaper option where it’s available to you! Rice, frozen veggies, potatoes, and beans are total staples in my diet and are some of the most affordable foods (that yes-do require time to prepare, unfortunately)! Just a reminder that despite what social media “wellness” culture tells you, you don’t need to have $15 salad and a $7 green juice for every meal!
