Healthy Weight Loss
By now, many who have taken on the resolution of losing weight, in the new year should be somewhere around the 6 week mark. How much weight have you lost?
Weight loss can be hard but if you have the right information and do it right you can accomplish your weight loss goals.
Look, we all want to lose weight fast, we all want to have the bodies that we see on social media, magazines and TV. We also want to be healthy while doing it. Crash dieting, shakes, teas, pills, you name it, its out there with promises of rapid weight loss. But, is it truly all healthy? I’m not going to spend my time, in this blog discrediting any of these programs but what I will say is, evidence has shown that individuals that lose anywhere from 1-2 lbs. a week are more successful at keeping it off than on any crash diet or program.
Healthy weight loss and maintaining it, is a lifestyle change. It’s long term and you know what? It’s cheaper. By changing the way you eat ie: making better meal choices and staying active for 60 minutes at a moderate intensity, you will be more successful at losing and keeping off the weight than shelling out lots of money on these diets and programs. It’s about commitment.
Losing weight has enormous health benefits as well. With improvements in blood pressure, cholesterol and sugars. Also keep in mind, that individuals who had maintained a significant weight loss reported improvements in their energy levels, physical mobility, mood, and self-confidence.
Take it one day at a time. Remember losing anywhere from a 1 to 2 lbs of weight per week is right on target.
Eating well balanced meals with all your nutrients and vitamins, staying active whether its walking, cycling, running or a combination of cardio and strength training and a committed mindset, are all the tools you need for healthy weight loss. Make the commitment to yourself and your health!
