Holiday Bark

Looking for yummy, sweet snack that will satisfy your chocolate craving and is holiday inspired? Something that is cute, simple and DYI, that you can give to family and friends. Look no further! I have it for you! Bark!!!! Bark is a delicious piece of chocolate that you can add anything to. Since this is the holiday inspired, I’m featuring my sweet and salty pretzel caramel bark, along with my almond and peppermint bark!

This simple, recipe for bark will quickly become your new favorite sweet and salty treat! No bake and no candy thermometer needed.

Salty Pretzel Caramel Bark

Ingredients:

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips, (I like ghiardelli best for melting)

1-1/2c of pretzels,

11 ounce bag Kraft Caramel Bits

Sea salt for sprinkling

Chocolate Almond Bark

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips

1c Almonds

Peppermint Bark

12 ounces semi-sweet chocolate chips or dark chocolate chips

3 crushed candy canes

  1. Line a large, rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.

  2. Melt 8 ounces of the chocolate chips gently in the microwave (on low heat, stirring every 15 seconds) until smooth.

  3. Spread the chocolate evenly over the parchment.

Immediately add the pretzels over the top (it's ok if they overlap!) and gently press them into the chocolate.

  1. Add caramel bits to a microwave safe bowl with 2 tablespoons water and melt according to package instructions (on high for 2 minutes). Stir well and drizzle the melted caramel over the top of all of the pretzels.

  2. Melt remaining 4 ounces of chocolate and drizzle over the caramel. Sprinkle with sea salt.

For Almond Bark:

Follow steps 1-3 except top almonds over melted spread chocolate. (I like to crush some of the almonds to give the bark some crunch variety.

For Peppermint Bark:

Follow steps 1-3 except do not add almonds, pretzels or caramel. In a separate bowl crush candy cane and top over melted spread chocolate.

Refrigerate until hardened. Cut or tear into pieces, Enjoy!
