Safe and Sound Sweet Potatoes
I love candied yams! Who doesn't but if you're watching your waistline a traditional recipe may not be the way you want to go! For Thanksgiving, try cutting up your yams/sweet potatoes and tossing them in olive oil, a pinch of salt, pepper, cinnamon and nutmeg and roast for 25-30min at 375degrees.
By doing this, you reduce an enormous amount of sugar and calories and the best part, sweet potatoes are an excellent source of Vitamin A (in the form of Beta Carotene),vitamin C and potassium. Small changes like this make a big difference down the road!
